Faller Packaging has acquired PAPERPACK S.A. for an undisclosed amount. The transaction, finalized through a share purchase agreement, brings the Greek carton packaging specialist under the full ownership of the German packaging group. PAPERPACK S.A. will continue to operate from its existing facilities, with its current management team remaining in place to ensure continuity for its clients.
PAPERPACK S.A., a listed company on the Athens Stock Exchange, has served the carton packaging industry for over a century. Its production focuses on folding cartons for the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, food, tobacco, and beverage sectors, with direct and indirect exports accounting for more than 60% of its output. The company emphasizes full financial transparency and maintains a structured workflow designed to deliver consistent quality across its product range. Faller Packaging, headquartered in Germany, is a family-owned manufacturer of pharmaceutical and consumer goods packaging, offering a broad portfolio that includes folding cartons, leaflets, and combination packaging.
The acquisition is driven by Faller Packaging’s need to expand its production capacity and geographic footprint within Europe. PAPERPACK S.A. brings a modern manufacturing base in Greece, a country where Faller previously had no direct presence. This move allows the acquirer to serve customers in Southeastern Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean with shorter supply chains, while also adding flexibility to its overall production network. For PAPERPACK S.A., joining a larger international group provides access to broader resources and a wider customer base, which may reduce its historical reliance on export markets alone.
The combined entity is expected to leverage PAPERPACK S.A.’s century-long expertise in carton production alongside Faller Packaging’s established position in regulated industries such as pharma. Both companies share a focus on quality assurance and customer-specific solutions, which should facilitate the integration of their operational standards. No changes to existing customer contracts or supplier agreements have been announced as part of the deal.
With the ownership transition complete, the two companies will now work on aligning their production planning and quality systems. The acquisition gives Faller Packaging a stronger foothold in the Greek market and a new production hub, while PAPERPACK S.A. gains the backing of a larger corporate structure. The immediate priority is to maintain uninterrupted service for existing clients as the integration process begins.
