Exits MENA has acquired Avanz Capital, a private equity asset management firm, for an undisclosed amount. The transaction transfers ownership of Avanz Capital’s investment platform and its existing portfolio of fund and company investments to Exits MENA, which will assume management responsibilities going forward.
Avanz Capital focuses on deploying capital in funds and companies across emerging and frontier markets, with a particular emphasis on Africa, Latin America and emerging Asia. The firm leverages global knowledge and local networks to connect international investors with prominent fund managers and operating companies in these regions. Avanz Capital operates as an affiliate of I Squared Capital, a global alternative asset manager with over $34 billion in assets under management.
For Exits MENA, the acquisition provides immediate access to Avanz Capital’s established investment pipeline and its relationships with fund managers and companies in high-growth markets. The deal allows Exits MENA to broaden its geographic footprint beyond its existing operations, adding a diversified set of assets in regions where local expertise is critical for successful investing. Avanz Capital’s track record in sourcing and managing investments in less liquid markets complements Exits MENA’s existing capabilities.
The combined entity will integrate Avanz Capital’s investment team and operational processes into Exits MENA’s framework, preserving the target firm’s on-the-ground knowledge while applying the acquirer’s governance and reporting standards. The transaction is expected to close following customary regulatory approvals, after which Exits MENA will manage the acquired portfolio with a focus on maintaining investor relationships and asset performance. The deal does not affect I Squared Capital’s broader operations, as Avanz Capital’s affiliate status will be dissolved upon completion.
