Medbase has acquired Adent Cliniques Dentaires, Switzerland’s largest dental clinic network, for an undisclosed amount. The transaction brings the dental group under the umbrella of the Swiss healthcare provider, which operates medical centers and pharmacies across the country. Adent will continue to operate under its existing brand, with its current management team remaining in place.
Adent is a national dental network with over 25 years of activity, offering a broad range of modern dental care under one roof. Its clinics emphasize transparent pricing, extended opening hours, and a patient-centered approach built on trust and individual needs. Medbase, a subsidiary of the Migros group, provides integrated outpatient care, including general medicine, physiotherapy, and pharmacy services, with a focus on accessible, coordinated treatment.
The acquisition is strategic for Medbase as it expands its service portfolio into dental care, complementing its existing medical and therapeutic offerings. For Adent, joining Medbase provides access to a larger healthcare ecosystem, enabling shared administrative resources and cross-referrals between dental and medical services. The deal aligns with Medbase’s goal of offering comprehensive, multi-disciplinary care at a single point of contact for patients.
Both companies expect the integration to enhance patient pathways, particularly for individuals requiring coordinated dental and general health treatments. The combined entity will leverage Medbase’s operational infrastructure to support Adent’s growth while maintaining the dental network’s local presence and clinical autonomy. No changes to clinic locations or staffing have been announced.
The acquisition strengthens Medbase’s position as a diversified healthcare provider in Switzerland, with dental care now a core pillar alongside its medical and pharmacy services. The coming months will focus on integrating back-office functions and developing joint care models, with the aim of delivering more seamless patient experiences across both organizations.
